It’s been nearly three months since a devastating storm hit northern Michigan. The storm knocked down hundreds of trees in Glen Arbor, Elk Rapids and elsewhere, causing millions of dollars in damage.
In the days following the storm, Bob Campbell, who worked for 30 years as an editor for the Detroit Free Press, set out to tell the story of the storm. His book, Storm Struck: When Supercharged Winds Slammed Northwest Michigan, was published less than two months later.
