Distributed by Music and the Spoken Word

6-7 p.m.: Chanticleer Christmas
A program of holiday favorites presented by a 12 man ensemble known as an orchestra of voices. Hosted by Brian Newhouse.

Thursday, Dec. 24
10 a.m.-noon: Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
A live service of spoken word and music (choral and organ) broadcast from the chapel of King's College in Cambridge, England.

5-7 p.m.: Handel’s Messiah
PRI Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performance

7-8 p.m.: Welcome Christmas
The perennial Christmas favorite from VocalEssence, on of the world's premiere choral groups, led by Phillip Brunelle.

Friday, Dec. 25
8-9 a.m.: Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir
Award-winning broadway singer Laura Osnes is joined by Metropolitan Opera Soloists Erin Morley, Tamara Mumford, Ben Bliss, and Tyler Simpson. Narrated by British screen and voice actor Martin Jarvis.

9-10 a.m.: Christmas with Morehouse and Spelman
NPR special. One of the great holiday traditions in America, the choirs of Morehouse and Spelman Colleges, two of the most prestigious historically black institutions in the nation.

10-11 a.m.: In Italia
From PRI, this holiday program includes a renaissance Christmas from Venice, Naples, Milan and Beyond, highlighting music from the 16th century.

11 a.m.-noon:  Sounds of the Season (rebroadcast)
An evening of family‐friendly holiday festivities including classical holiday music, actors, dancers, jazz and a singalong of popular carols.

Noon-1 p.m.: Traverse Symphony Orchestra: Home for the Holidays (rebroadcast)
Guest conductor Octavio Más-Arocas takes the podium as the NMC Grand Traverse Chorale & Children’s Choir return for the Symphony’s festive annual holiday celebration.

2-4 p.m.: St. Olaf
More than 500 talented students perform holiday favorites at St. Olaf College in the tiny town of Northfield, Minnesota.

4-6 p.m.: Nine Lessons and Carols
A live service of spoken word and music (choral and organ) broadcast from the chapel of King's College in Cambridge, England.

6-8 p.m.: Handel’s Messiah

Saturday, Dec. 26
noon-2 p.m.: Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra
Messiah Plus recorded at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey.

4-5 p.m.: A Season’s Groit
PRI's Kwanzaa celebration of story and song.

5-6 p.m.: Light and Gold, the Music of Eric Whitacre
An encore presentation of our 2014 program co-hosted by Eric Whitacre and featuring his own choral masterpieces.
