Classical IPR brought you the Baroque Choral Festival live from Corson Auditorium this past Sunday.

The concert included the Traverse Symphony Orchestra and soloists, Choral Ensembles from Northwestern Michigan College, and the Interlochen Arts Academy Choir.

The Traverse Symphony Orchestra and choral ensembles from Northwestern Michigan College and Interlochen Arts Academy perform Dettingen Te Deum and Zadok the Priest by Handel, along with Vivaldi’s Gloria. Soloists are Laura Osgood Brown, Jayne Sleder and Keith Brown. Kevin Rhodes conducts. Listen live at 3 p.m. this Sunday on Classical IPR.

Interlochen Public Radio, the University Musical Society and the New York Philharmonic presented a  live program from Hill Auditorium on November 19th. It will be rebroadcast  on Classical IPR this Friday, December 8th at 8pm.

The program features commentary, interviews, and the performance of Don Quixote by Strauss and Bernstein's  Symphony No. 3 "Kaddish" conducted by Leonard Slatkin.

Along with the New York Philharmonic, performers include Speaker Jeremy Irons, Soprano Tamara Wilson, the UMS Choral Union, and the MSU Children's Choir.

This Friday morning on Classical IPR, you can hear the Detroit Symphony Orchestra live in concert! Virtuosic Canadian violinist James Ehnes returns in the first Detroit performances of a concerto by celebrated orchestral and film composer James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games series), and guest conductor Cristian Măcelaru leads Rachmaninoff's romantic Second Symphony. The program airs at 10:40am.
