State's largest hospital system would prefer to repair ACA, not start from scratch

Stateside's conversation with Mary Zatina, senior vice president of governmental relations and community affairs for the Beaumont Health System.

Returning from the 4th of July recess, Senate Republicans are going to try again to come up with a health care bill that can win the 50 votes it needs to pass.

Word is, they hope to have a revised health bill to show senators by week's end, perhaps by Thursday.

A Congressional Budget Office score could come by next Monday, with a Senate vote by the end of next week.

How is all of this uncertainty affecting Michigan hospitals and health care providers? The ones with many thousands of newly insured patients?

To answer that question, Mary Zatina joined Stateside today. She's senior vice president of governmental relations and community affairs for the Beaumont Health, the largest system among eight major hospitals in Southeast Michigan.
