Karl O'Connor, a.k.a, Regis, will release his new album, Manbait, on September 18.

No one does dark dance music like Karl O'Connor, a.k.a. Regis. His label Downwards is the standard bearer, and his personal output as Regis and as part of Sandwell District is hotly anticipated by techno freaks worldwide.

We'll get some brand new music from Regis on Sept. 18 when O'Connor puts out the collection Manbait on the U.K. label Blackest Ever Black. The 2011 vinyl-only single "Blood Witness" will also be on that collection, and today it's available online for the first time. This is plenty to celebrate: The song immediately establishes a primal soundworld with a barrage of bass thuds, each tinged with a thick slab of reverb. The cascading rhythm and myriad layers of production make it all too easy to lose yourself in your headphones.
