It was announced yesterday that downtown Grand Rapids will host an annual competitive art fair called "ArtPrize."
ArtPrize will turn 3 square miles of downtown Grand Rapids into an art gallery this fall. It will award the winner a quarter of a million dollars. The public will decide the winners by texting on their cell phones or by voting online. Not all artists like the rules and voting method for the new competition, including Northern Michigan Artist Richard Kooyman, who spoke with IPR's Brad Aspey.
