Hobbit houses and a remembrance for Margaret Juntwait: this week on the Green Room

Daniel Wanschura

Charlevoix boasts some unique houses. Often referred to as mushroom, Gnome, or Hobbit houses, the homes attract hundreds of tourists during the summer months. A new documentary film, https://vimeo.com/72823260" style="line-height: 1.5;" target="_blank">The Wizard of Boulder Park, celebrates the architectural legacy of Earl Young, the man who built them. With limited architectural training, Young designed the homes to integrate with the natural landscape.

Plus, we remember Margaret Juntwait who passed away on Wednesday. She was a pleasant voice of the Metropolitan Opera’s Saturday live radio broadcasts. Listen to The Green Room this Friday on Interlochen Public Radio.
